Music
For the opening song we have decided to have a cover of Decode, which was originally performed by a band called Paramore. This is quite an up-beat song, this shows a happy atmosphere, as this song is playing in the background while four girls are getting ready. This song is going to be played from two of the girls phones as you see them pressing play.
We had difficulty try to find the right music to bring the bright excited atmosphere as we had so many songs that we thought were suitable for this part of the film, but when it came down to choosing we chose this cover of Decode, mainly because we liked the cover and we liked the song. We also liked the original, however we are not allowed to include it because it will be classed as copyright, as it is protected by the copyright protection act.
Where as this cover is not protected by the copyright protection act so we are allowed to include it in our film opening.
This song was covered by a girl called MEMELii, we liked it because it sounds a lot like the original performer.

For Scarlet's, death we have decided the have a piano cover of Young and Beautiful, it was originally preformed by Lana Del Rey, She was the original singer for the song.
We decided to just have a piano cover of the song, so we could have a range of different types of music.
This is a fairly light, soft song and it brings a emotional feel as we see that one of the girls have been murdered. Also having no lyric in this piece brings a peaceful feel to the situation as we want death to convey a sorrowful feel to the scene.
We found it hard to find a good song for this particular circumstances, because we wanted to set the mood and make everyone feel the sadness of this scene. This cover makes the scene feel more tense as well, as she has been murdered in her own room. In the very place where she is meant to feel secure and safe.
The other reason why we could not use the original song is because it is also protected by the copyright protection act.

We are going to to have a song going over our title to, firstly set up the rest of the film and secondly to bring more tension to the title and make the audience want to watch on. This song is going to be composed by Chantelle on garage band on the Imac. We decided to compose the theme song, because we want to have a range of songs, as we already have a sony with lyrics and a instrumental song and so we wanted to have a song that was composed by a member of the group. This song has a deep creepy feel to the title and it makes the audience get a sense of what is coming up in the film.
This is also called foreboding, with music, this song is not protected by the copyright protection act purely because we composed it.
