Character Biography

Character Biography

Chantelle plays a 20 year old woman, called Eva. Eva is the leader of the group of best friends in our film, this is because she is the oldest, so everyone in the group looks up to her. She is also the most sensible one as she is the oldest, this means that she thinks through carefully before acting and she also makes sure all of the other girls are in line.Eva is very mature, but she likes to let her hair down occasionally and have fun with her best friends as well.In our film we are trying to convey her personality through her bedroom and her outfit without spelling it out, this is because we are trying to reveal her character without literally pointing it out. Her room is plain with pops of colour and her outfit is also black with burnt orange shoes, this is the pop of colour with in her outfit.

Abigail plays a 19 year old woman, called Riley. Riley is the girlie-girl of the friendship group. Riley's favourite colour is pink and she likes to wear it often, she also likes to wear some make-up. Riley is the second oldest, this means that she is also mature, however she is not as mature as Eva this is because she is still a teenager and she is still finding the teen-life to be as interesting and fascinating as when she turned 18. Riley also likes to take risks as she thinks that it make your life more interesting. Riley is very protective over the two younger girls and she acts almost like an older sister to them. We are also trying to portray Riley's character through her outfit and bedroom, this is so we do not have to say her personality,we wanted it to do it that way because we only have two minutes for our opening and we wanted to convey her character in those two minutes.

Megan plays a 18 year old woman, called Scarlet. Scarlet is the Grudger of the group, this means she is into all of the Goth things, however she is not a Goth. Scarlet dies at the beginning of our film, so it is okay that she is a Grudge girl, because she is not one of our main characters. Scarlet is close to the other girls. We convey her personality through her bedroom and her dress that she was going to wear for the party before she is murdered.

Kimberley plays a 17 year old girl, called Cassie. Cassie is the youngest and she is the Slutty type out of the girls, this means she wears barely any clothes and she wears lots of make-up. As Cassie is the youngest out of the girls, this means that the other girls mother her a lot. However, they still treat her as if she is their age,(hence they allow her to drink and do whatever she pleases). Cassie loves leopard print, we see this through out her bedroom and outfit, as it appears everywhere.

The killer, is a psychopath that takes pleasure out of killing innocent young women. There is no reason that we know of to why he kills young women, however one of his unfortunate victims happen to be this group of young women. His choice of weapon is a knife, because it is a common household item, so it is easy to get hold of. It is also personal as he has to be in contact with the victim in order to kill them. He also likes to leave his victim where he kills them, which is usually in their homes, this makes the murder intrusive as he is breaking and entering and your home is meant to be your safe place not your grave. This shows that the killer is cold-blooded as he kills coldly and emotionlessly.

Mise-en-scene

Here in this short clip we are discussing the mise-en-scene of our film. I thought this would be a good idea to show us discussing the mise-en-scene because it was easier to talk about it and it shows everyones ideas and points, so we know how everyone feels about it . It also shows us how we are going to put it into our film, including everyone's points.

The production company that we have decided to use for our film is called Summit Entertainment. We chose Summit Entertainment because, it relates to our genre that we are basing our film on, which is Thriller.

Summit Entertainment is an American film studio. Since 2006 Summit Entertainment has become an individual production company after working with Lions Gate and Universal.

Summit was originally founded in 1991, by film producers Bernd Eichinger, Arnon Milched and Andrew G.Vajna, initially to deal with film sales in foreign countries.

Summit expanded, so they started producing and co-financing film in 1995, and then they started fully financing films by 1997.

Summit was officially launched in 1993 by Patrick Wachsberger, Bob Hayward and David Garrett, under the name Summit Entertainment LP as a production, distribution, and sales organisation.

In 2006 Summit became a fully independent film studio, now known as Summit Entertainment, Rob Friedman; who was a former executive at Paramount Picture also joined Summit.

Animatics

Animatics

This is our animatics. I think that it was successful to fill and it shows how we are going to film our two minute opening. However, it would have been more successful it we managed to firstly film the scene for the length it will be in our film opening and secondly it the camera was more steady than it was.
